Daniel Rickett, Ph.D. — Biographical Sketch

Dan Rickett

Dan Rickett is executive vice president of Sisters In Service (SIS), a non-profit organization commissioned by churches and individuals to empower women and children against poverty, disease, exploitation, and spiritual darkness in the least-reached places of the world.

Before joining SIS, Daniel was director of research at Geneva Global and associate professor of leadership at Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania. Dr. Rickett has twenty-five years of international experience working with ministries in organizational and ministry effectiveness. Daniel has facilitated international partnerships, conducted evaluations, and guided capacity building in over twenty countries.

In addition, Daniel has served on the board of directors of six non-profit ministries in the United States, five of which he helped create. He also co-founded the Coalition for Support of Indigenous Ministries (COSIM). Daniel is a graduate of Michigan State University (Ph.D., Adult and Continuing Education) and Wheaton College Graduate School through Daystar University, Nairobi, Kenya (M.A., Intercultural Communications).

Daniel has taught many graduate courses and professional seminars in business and missions. His unique participatory style helps learners gain skill and practical tools for addressing the complexities of intercultural partnerships. Seminars he offers include the following:

Dan is the author of Making Your Partnership Work (2002); Building Strategic Relationships (2000; 3rd edition 2008); co-editor of Supporting Indigenous Ministries, a Billy Graham Center monograph (1997); and co-author with his wife, Michele, of Ordinary Women: Developing a Faithwalk Worth Passing On (2001).

Daniel is married to Michele Rickett, founder and president of Sisters in Service. Daniel and Michele have two adult children.
