Outreach Activities in Brazil
- Show the Jesus film in small unreached communities
- Use drama and mime to share the Gospel message
- Serve alongside Brazilian missionaries-in-training on projects in village churches
- Reach schoolchildren with simple programs (games, stories, face-painting)
- Build bridges to youth through sports ministry
- Participate in ongoing construction projects at a Brazilian missionary training college
- Minister in a local prison as well as washing hair, painting fingernails, and shaving men at a local nursing home.

Peoples
Like
the US, Brazil has welcomed and absorbed a great variety
of peoples and races. The main groupings are as
follows:
- White - 54% (Includes Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, German)
- Mixed race - 38% (Mestizo and Mulatto)
- Black - 6%
- Other - 2% (Includes Asians and Arabs)
Languages
The official language is Portuguese. Spanish, English, and French are spoken by small groups of the population.

Economy
In 2000, Brazil's economy was the eighth largest in the world, thanks to vast natural resources and a large labor pool. But a huge gap separates the wealthier 30% from the poorer 70%. Over 20% of Brazilians live below the poverty line. As many as 90 million may be undernourished.
Politics
After 300 years as a Portuguese colony, Brazil became an independent nation in 1822. After a succession of authoritarian military dictatorships during the previous fifty years, multi-party democracy was restored in 1985.
Religion
Brazil
has freedom of religion and separation of Church and state. The
world's largest Catholic country, Brazil is also the largest spiritist
country with as many as half a million spiritist mediums.
