The Muslim call to prayer amplified five times a day will repeatedly remind you of your purpose - to intercede. Whether walking in the city square, or hiking on the mountain tops, the primary goal of this team is to make a difference in the most unreached part of the nation through strategic prayer/prayerwalking and relationship building.
As you experience legendary Turkish hospitality, you will learn about Turkey's culture, history, and religion. You will be exposed to the spiritual needs of a Muslim country, help encourage the long-term workers, have English language interaction with local students, and life exchanges with Turkish people - perhaps even staying with a Turkish family for a few days.
Your main purpose is to pray and learn, but there may be times to carefully and respectfully share your faith on a one-to-one basis. Be ready for some spectacular mountain hikes! Includes a short visit to Istanbul.

Initial $20 non-refundable application fee. Round-trip travel from Minneapolis is estimated at $1,615 plus estimated Team Fee of $1,500. STEM Share will arrange airfare at the best rates available. Team Fee cost covers all training and training materials, in-country meals and lodging, ground transportation, limited insurance, visa, ministry/project materials, team leader and administrative costs. Prices may vary if significant inflation occurs. Team members will need to bring their own money for souvenirs, personal items, and any additional airport meals. All fees paid to STEM Int'l are tax-deductible.
Training
Pre-field training (included in above dates) includes educational materials, Team Manual and Team Training in Minneapolis prior to departure (for other training locations, please ask). The Team Training is required. On-field orientation and debriefing will be in Turkey.
Team Make-up
Team language is English. Minimum of 6, maximum of 9. STEM Share Team Leader will provide around-the-clock leadership and assistance.
Special requirements
This team is designed for committed Christians who are relationship oriented and motivated to pray. Team members need to be in good health for plenty of walking and for hiking in the mountains.
accommodation
The team will stay in 3 or 4 locations: a basic hotel in a city, a small cabin in the mountains, a reasonable hotel in Istanbul, and possibly a brief homestay with families in a village.
Passport & Visa
A passport is required. If you don't have one, you should apply for one immediately (visit your courthouse or online at http://travel.state.gov).
A visa is required and is covered in your cost (see "Cost"). Your Team Leader will obtain your visa for you upon arrival in Turkey.
