“The Bible has been changed. Everything that was in the original Bible is now in the Koran.” With this as his fundamental belief, the Imam (mosque leader) discredited our Scriptures attempting to persuade us that while the Bible contains lots of “nice stuff,” it is corrupted and only the Koran is trustworthy. Yet, this man sat with us for more than 3 hours on the floor of his mosque as we searched the Scriptures together. Truth spoken. Seeds planted.
The Lord directed this mature team in deep and rich prayer, and in on-site prayerwalking in many places and in many ways, but primarily we focused on 4 symbolic themes: Marketplace, Heights, River, and Ruins. We also saw doors open to proclaim the Kingdom by serving the long-term workers and being intentional about expressing the love of Christ in new friendships. This team was amazed by how much can be communicated despite not having a common language!
