STEM Share — FAQ (frequently asked questions)
What is the difference between STEM Ministries and STEM Share?
While both STEM Ministries and STEM Share eagerly serve the common ministry goals of STEM Int'l, the who, where and how of our service differs.
Who: STEM Ministries provides outreach opportunites to serve among people groups in many "reached" nations. STEM Share limits its mission scope to unreached people groups in "unreached" nations.
Where: STEM Ministries provides outreach opportunities primarily in the Western hemisphere. STEM Share, following its focus on engaging unreached people groups serves primarily in the Eastern hemisphere where the majority of unreached people live. This area of the world is known as the 10/40 Window.
How: STEM Ministries excels in serving through a mixture of evangelism, construction work, and mercy/service/creative ministries. STEM Share teams typically adopt discreet forms of ministry in order to maintain longevity of ministry opportunites in these fields. More info about STEM Share outreaches here.

What is the range of cost for STEM Share teams?
The total (including airfare) is usually between $2,200 and $3,000. Airfare, destination, and the number of days overseas are all variables in this equation.
How does STEM Share decide where to send teams?
We intentionally focus on the least reached. We build partnerships with long-term workers who invite our teams to come be a part of their strategy to share Jesus with unreached people groups in restricted-access nations.
What is an Unreached People Group?
An ethnic group of people which has no indigenous community of believing Christians able to evangelize their own people group.
What is a Restricted-Access Nation?
A place where the people are restricted from accessing the gospel by their government or their society. Most of these places are located in the area of the world known as the 10/40 Window.
Why is prayer and prayerwalking such a major focus on STEM Share teams?
On-site prayer teams are the #1 request we receive from the long-term Christian workers with whom we partner.
What is prayerwalking?
Discreetly “praying on-site with insight” as you walk in small groups through neighborhoods full of people who need prayer. Prayerwalking helps bring prayer alive and immediately relevant as you pray for the very people and situations you are seeing. More on prayerwalking here.
Can't you just pray from home?
Yes...but will you?
At the end of a short-term mission on which prayer and prayerwalking has played a major role — one long-term result will be that the team member will be praying for these people for a lifetime.
